The Wild Women of Middletown’s Past

Women's History Walking Tour

The Women’s History Walking Tour, led by former Society director Dione Longley, stepped off from the General Mansfield House at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 20th, 2011.  We had a great turnout--65 people attended the tour and the reception afterward.  Di told wonderful stories of Middletown women--organizing unions, supporting the was effort in the Civil War, practicing medicine, and playing basketball (remember the Speed Girls?).

The Women’s History Walking Tour was funded in part by the Middlesex County Community Foundation/ Fund for Women and Girls through a grant awarded in honor of Arianna Huffington.
